About me
I'm Jesus Guerra, a software engineer focused on mobile development, architecture, and building reliable software systems.
Over the years, I've worked across fintech, consumer apps, healthcare, and other product environments, from launching products from scratch to modernizing legacy applications, improving mobile architecture, and handling security-sensitive features. What I've learned is that the interesting problems usually go far beyond writing code. They live in architecture decisions, production releases, security, legacy systems, team coordination, and the trade-offs required to actually ship software.
A lot of the lessons I've learned didn't come from ideal architectures or greenfield projects. They came from production incidents, release constraints, legacy code, tight deadlines, changing requirements, and the trade-offs teams make when building real products.
That's what I write about here.
This blog is a place to share observations and lessons around software architecture, mobile engineering, security, AI-assisted development, releases, technical decision-making, and team collaboration. I'm less interested in step-by-step tutorials and more interested in the reasoning behind decisions, what worked, what didn't, and what I learned along the way.
Most of my background is in iOS and mobile engineering. Over the years, I've worked on security-critical features, authentication systems, performance optimization, release management, and the modernization of complex applications.
I've also worked with startups and enterprise teams through consulting engagements, helping them ship products, improve engineering workflows, and make difficult technical decisions with limited time and imperfect information.
This blog is where I document some of those experiences.
I'm based in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico.
